Donate to The Carefree Foundation
Following the unprecedented success of Project African Vision, we are expanding and need your help now more than ever. In 2005 we will have two ongoing domestic programs and three international programs in Peru, Niger and the tsunami region. Please help this year be a "carefree" year for someone in need! We are committed to making the most of your donations. We are an all-volunteer organization and strive to minimize our overhead and invest as much as possible in our projects. The percentage of each dollar we receive that is directly invested in our projects is nearly three times more than the average amount spent by other major healthcare philanthropies. We are also recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) federal tax-exempt organization. Our taxpayer ID is 20-0925169 and your contributions are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
We now have multiple ways for you to provide assistance. All donations will be followed by a receipt for tax purposes. Please visit the links below to learn how you can best support our cause.
Individual contributions make up a significant portion of our funding. We require no minimum contribution and recognize that every penny counts. The board of directors will allocate your funds to one of our many ongoing projects, or you may request a specific project allocation for your donation. The easiest and fastest way to donate is via our secure website. We are also happy to process recurring donations if you wish to become a regular donor to our organization. If you prefer to use a check, we accept online checks or you can mail your check to our headquarters. Please be sure to include the address to which we should send the receipt. In Memory/In Honor/On the Occasion We are grateful to receive donations that honor a friend, keep the memory of a loved one alive, or mark a special occasion. Upon receipt of your donation, in addition to sending you a receipt, we will also send acknowledgements to individuals you designate. The easiest way to make this type of donation is via our secure website. If you prefer to use a check, we accept online checks or you can mail your check to our headquarters. Please be sure to include the addresses to which we should send the receipt and acknowledgements. We are happy to accept in-kind donations. All medical equipment and supplies will be used on our medical missions or donated to clinics in need. In addition to medical donations, we will gladly accept physical donations of all types, both large and small. Some examples include but are not limited to cars, real estate, computers, furniture and televisions. In the event we are unable to use your donation for one of our projects, we will resell it and put the proceeds towards one of our projects. If you are interested making a donation of this type, please fill out our in-kind donation form and a member of our team will contact you. In most circumstances we are able to arrange pickup of your donations. Please help us advance our mission by telling your family and friends about our cause. We welcome the opportunity to work with businesses and organizations that want to help us advance our mission. We are always looking for new partnership ideas. Partnering with us is an excellent way for a business or organization to show its support for improving medical care worldwide. This show of support will give many less fortunate individuals their only chance at life. Please email us if you wish to discuss a partnership opportunity. This year will be our second year as a charity partner of the Marine Corps Marathon. Our marathon program allows our supporters to reach a personal goal while raising funds for our projects. We will be teaming up again with the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC) to maximize the efficiency of the program. All proceeds with be shared equally by FIMRC and Carefree, and thus far the partnership has proven to be mutually beneficial. This past year our runners raised just over $36,000, and with our training programs all 35 of our runners finished the race. This year the race will take place on October 30, 2005.
